One. History
During the reign of Emperor Chieng Lung in the Great Ching Dynasty, people from Chin Chiang County , Chuan Chou Fu, and Fujian came to farm and settled down here. Residence of the people was divided into 4 parts: Shan Liao(1-4 neighborhoods), Ta Chuang(5-14 neighborhoods),Tien Chung(15-17 neighborhoods) and Kan Ting(18-20 neighborhoods).In the old residence of the village, there is a Yao 's ancestral house. Members of the Yaos are mostly engaged in traditional Chinese medicine and the place was therefore called Yao Tien Kou.The Hsie's ancestral house: the family was a local prestigious family and the place was called Hsie Chuo Nei; Chen's ancestral house used to be the residence of Head of Pao during the Japanese occupation. Also in the traditional residence of the Shan Liao, there exists a Hsie's ancestral house that was built during the Japanese rule; there were many small hills there and in the Tien Chung residence are many textile enterprises which provide a lot of job opportunities for the villagers, however, the heyday of this place has gone.In the 1950s. There used to brickkiln in Kan Ting residence, however, only relics of Pagua Yao remained.
Two. Geographic location
East: bounded by 4-Plough Village, Ho Mei Town on the east.
South: bounded by Yu Pu, Wen Tsai and Kou Nei on the west.
South: bounded by Hsia Li Village on the south.
North: bounded by Te Hsin Ssu Ku Chen and Te Hsin on the north.
Area: 2.8 square kilometers
Three. Natural and humanistic environments
Located at Hsi Chui region of this county, Ting Li is a typical rural village with a total population of 3043 people, 1621 males and 1422 females. Most of the villagers live on agriculture with major produces including rice, garlic's, chufa and pea. During the heyday of great textile in 1950s and 1960s, there used to be textile factories like Tung Chi, Tung Tuo, Tung Feng and Shuang Liang. Currently, plastic injection and household hardware processing are the dominant industries here. Belief centers in the villager are Ching An Palace and Pao An Palace (Shan Tien Tang). The Tien Chung residence takes Five Fu Chien Sui as the main God, while Kan Ting residence takes Fu Te Cheng Shen as the object of worship.
