Introduction of the village:
Hsien Hsi Village Community introduction

One. History
The village is bounded by Te Hsin Village on the east, Yu Pu Village on the south, the sea on the west(adjacent to today's Chang Hua Coastal Industrial Park ) and Ting Chuang Village on the north.Main residential places of the village include Kou Cuo, Hsia Chien Kou, Chai Liao. Kou Cuo used to be called Ching Kou Cuo. How Ching Kou Cuo got its name is accounted for in the following interesting legend: in the old days Ta Tu River was divided into several branches before emptying into the sea, forming river mouths everywhere ; and Ching means small road. Ching Kou refers to small roads leading to the sea mouths.Afterwards, Ching Kou Cuo was called Kou Cuo for short.Hsia Chien Kou used to be called Hsia Ching Kou. Legend says that in the early days of Emperor Chieng Lung's days, a man named Ssu Kuan Huang(a native of Ching Chiang County , Chuan Chou Fu) came to farm and build a village at Ching Kou Cuo. Later, his son Jen Yan Huang built a another village beneath Ching Kou Cuo and called it Hsia Ching Kou in contrast with Ching Kou. The reason it was called subsequently Hsia Chien Kou may be due to error in speaking. Chai Liao got its name because a monger sold woods such as China fir there during the rule of the Japanese, which attracted more and more people to come and form a village(on the southwestern side of crossroad of Coastal Road and Central Road)..

Four. Natural and humanistic environments:

In this village ,most villagers share the surname of Huang.Lands of the village have been converted mostly into paddy fields and new lands have been transformed into Chang Hua Coastal Industrial Park, enabling the road section from this village to Yu Pu to develop into commercial streets, where sea food shops and snack bars stand in great numbers on the two side, constituting the most properous part of the village. In terms of religious belief, Kou Cuo takes Wen An Palace as the village temple, while Hsia Chien Kou takes Chien Hsin Palace .
