It is believed that those who have brought benefits to the people in the world are bound to be worshipped by the later generations and their great meritorious services are sure to be passed down form one generation to the other. Worshipped in the ancestral house of Hsien Hsim Town is Wen Fu Chien Sui Yeh with the surname of Wen(also known as Huang Chih) whose great achievements have benefited the later generations for a long time.Early in the days of Chen Kuan reign in the Tang Dynasty, an outstanding noble man from Chi Nan, Shan Tung , proficient both in military and civil knowledge and sympathic to sufferings of the people, devoted himself to help others. Unfortunately, he died when he was still in the golden days of his life, leaving his spirit roaming around the world to make his power felt, show the people how to get things right, draw magic figures, appear in the dreams of the people to save those in danger, ward off calamities and bless the people in the world. To show thanks to him, a lot of people in different places worshiped him as a god, further highlighting his powers. The next year, during a visit, while Emperor Chen Kuan, accompanied and guarded by his closest generals, was eager to ferry across a river, he was stopped by strong wind arising suddenly on the river. As the Emperor was at a loss what to do, he suddenly saw a shabby temple standing beside a road near the river, in the middle which a Chinese character ? (Wen) was inlaid. So the Emperor went up to burn incenses, pray and promised to give some official appoint if someone would assist him in ferring across the river. Shortly after the pray, the wind subsided and the waves calmed down. The Emperor was so happy that he awarded Wen the title of Wang Yeh and wrote down the four words(Tai Tien Hsuen Shou).Thereafter, the spirit of Wen Wang Yeh was widely recognized, further demonstrating the benefits that Wen Wang Yeh had brought to the people.
During the reign of Emperor Chien Lung in the Great Ching Dynasty, ancestors of the twon came from Tung Shih Town, Pu Chiang County, Chuan Chou Fu, Fujian Province to Hsien Hsi with Wen Wang Yeh.In the early days, the few people living in such a bleak and desolate were unable to build a temple for worshipping, so they worshipped Wen Wang Yeh in a local residence in the hope that the god would continue to bless the people in spite of simplicity and crudeness. During the Japanese occupation of Taiwan , some of the villagers were conscripted into the Japanese army and all returned safely.
During the 2 nd World War , Taiwan as a whole was bombed by the warplanes of the allied army except that our ancestral house remained in a whole skin with calm seas and good harvests. The villages ascribed the good fortune to the blessing of Wen Wang Yeh .And, to show thanks to the god, the villagers decided to build a temple to worship him. Then in 1971, the villagers launched a campaign to build the temple by actively contributing money and force. However, the plan to build a temple aborted due to difficulty in finding a land. In 1981, the management committee was established. In 1983, the premier council was set up, followed by the election of the premier the new year, who continued to push forward the plan to build a temple and won extensive supports from the people. The problem of land for building the temple was partly solved by Mr. Ming Tao Huang who, disregarding his own benefits, contributed fertile land in his possession at a low cost to assist the great event of building Wen An Palace. However, Mr Ming Tao Huang's land was not enough for the purpose of building the temple, so Mr Huang Ching ang Tsai Yi Huang resolutely contributed the rest of the land needed.Hence, with money collected from the ardent believers and the responsibilities of affairs from drawing, design, work supervision, management of funds affixing to the premier and other persons, work on the temple commenced on Agu 2 nd , 1984 and was successfully completed on Sep 11 th , 1986.Grand and spelendid, the new palace is not only a spiritual and culture center for local believers, but also a famous tourist resort that serves to facilitate development of local economy by attracting visitors from other places to burn incense and worship. In order that the holly light of Wen Wang Palace always shines brilliantly, the origin of Wen Wang Yeh and the process of building the temple are thus recorded for memorizing.

In addition to the main god of Wen Wang Ye, other gods like Wen Chang Ti Jun and Five Fu Chien Sui are also worshipped at Wen An Palace.
